little treat's from s-korea

so my sister just got back from korea few days ago, she's bringing bunches of korean treats, from candies to biscuits to brownies and some kind like a mochi. here are some of them that keeps me munching for more

mint layer candies, sandwich like structure

lotte anytime mint candy
i thought it would taste like your ordinary mints, no its not! it's sweet, but not that sweet with something that some taste and fragrant nice, that i still didnt figure it out. It taste like kids toothpaste i used to use when i was a kid, tasty and fruity toothepaste! (in a goodway though)
and i really love them

seasoned rice cakes
at first i thought it would be like serena, our local rice cake brand. but its slightly different
it's bit sweet and but sweet with a twist hahaa

Market - O brownie!
a really good one in a package, its moist, nice texture and taste not to sweet ! best ive ever taste in package brownie.

lotus caramelized biscuit
this is surprisingly good. I thought it will taste like funny rice cakes or another speculaas
it is kinda a speculaas i supposed, but usual speculass will taste a bit dry, spicy, and bitter in the end, but this is not! it tasted with mildly caramel taste. lovely. really good with hot tea.

and some ice cream-like dummy candy!
i forgot to take the pictures , i didnt taste so great though but looks really cute! haha

oh and some bird's nest-like sugary texture, with pistachio filling! it really good i also forgot to take the pictures - what a shame. it could be really sticky though when you leave them to long.

trip details and tips from a dummy

so i decided to write down some few awesome spots to visit, i hope i could be handy tips someday for others,if or any of you decided to visit lombok. maybe you find these cheesy and cliches tips quite usefull

1. go to kuta beach (yes kuta, no kuta bali, this is kuta lombok) breathtaking.
enchanting, bring yourself some changes, the water is so pure is keep squalling you to jump in . bring towels, or at least deep some toes in it, my friend told me that water is straight from indian ocean.so be careful though. it is approx 3 hours to get there, from senggigi by car. it is worthed, spend some few times to chill, it is really quiet place and they dont sell any food there so bring your own beverages, chill and get a sun tan! hahaha

2. go to sukarare village.
find yourself a tenun from lombok, its not as smooth as bali, but it is unique, you can go to a village . try some sasak clothes on, and of course see how they make those catchy colored tenun!
tips : dont go to the big ones, instead go to a humble shops,it is around 250 - 500 ribu for a regular tenun for skirt, for the better quality is around 500 - 800, and more . try not to bargain much, it is a handmade, they made them from scratch so , appreciate more, :)

3. go snorkel and dive on the gilis
there are 3 gilis, air, trawangan, meno
trawangan is the biggest, the most developed, air is the smallest, you can take a ride from pasar seni sengigi by boat, it is around 850.000/boat for a day, on the way to the gilis you can see rinjani mountains on your left, and bali island on your right, sip the lovely view and windy warmthness of the sun, bring your underwater camera! bring some extra filmrolls if you use a non digital cameras.
bring some money! youll grab some lunch there.pretty expensive though than usual meal we had. (at least for student like me hahaha) (ill post more pictures on my previous post)

4. go to sembalun, pretty windy bring some jackets,
see tradtional houses, beautiful mountain sceneries, dont forget to come back before 5pm if you want to take that road, or you can detour, it is misty already. have some lunch in some locals house, bring yours of course, dont forget to taste coffe lombok, it is strong, pretty good for me, eventhough im more a tea person haha. oh and beware of monkeys! they're pretty friendly and looks innocent fatty monkeys, but still be aware!!!

5. go visit banyumulek!
pottery village, intresting to see

6.buy some manisan rumput laut! it tastes like yupi!! they also had manisan tomat (tomato) (my friend tami will be thrilled since shes a big fan of tomato (i wonder why)).

7. go eat some ayam taliwang!! i think kania had the best chicken, it is spicy, be aware.

8. eat on a place called ..... oh crap i forgot the name!!! it is near somekind of a jungle , but touristic jungle you can also visit the jungle and near a pura. spicy it is a humble place, super tasty and crisp plecing!

10. if you had more energy or intend to stay longer, you can hike rinjani. super awesome picturesque scenessss aaaa ( i havent had the chance to go there yet, but you can see the pictures on the internet aaaaa super envy)

soo may this time enough, if i remember something ill post it later ahaha, i hope you guys find it useful
